    Basics

The core edition of World of Warcraft, even with all the patches, only had Blacksmithing a single profession. However with the release of the Burning Crusade you are able to master certain items likes weapons and armor. With these masteries you can get exclusive Blacksmithing Icon bind on pickup items. Once you learn a specialization you may want to make sure that you really want it because it will take 100 gold to unlearn those skills and take on another specialty.

With Armorsmithing you get some fine and rare armor items throughout the game. You'll need to be at least a character level of 40 and have a blacksmithing skill of at least 200. There are specific trainers that you will have to go to in the game to get the specialization that you want. With Armorsmithing you will need to get Quest: The Art of the Armorsmith available from Grumnus Steelshaper in Ironforge for the Alliance and from Okothos Ironrager in Orgrimmar for the Horde.

It may be a smart idea to gather up all the items that will be required in the quests to become an armorsmith. For the alliance folks it will need a heart of fire, eighteen mageweave cloth, twenty thick leather, two aquamarine, four citrine, nine solid grinding stones, twelve heavy grinding stones, forty iron bars, thirty steel bars, three hundred and forty two mithril bars, and twenty six truesilver bars. For the horde folks it will need all of the alliance items plus another ninety steel bars and another four solid grinding stones.
