Ready, set, go!
Zul'Farak is the instance that is located in Tanaris that is available to both Alliance and Horde players that are level 40+. This is a great way to go up to level 50 if you can find a good group to run with, or if you have some friends that are level 70's that can run you through. Before you go though, there are tons of quests that you can pick up in Gadgetzan first that will help with the great experience that you will get as well while you are in the instance. Here is where you need to go in Gadgetzan and what quests you want to get before you head up to Zul'Farrak:
In Tanaris, you will get “Scarab Shells" from Tran'Rek, “Troll Temper" from Trenton Lighthammer, “Divino-matic Rod" from Chief Engineer Bilgewhizzle – all in Gadgetzan. There are not any of these that you will have to do a chain for first.
In Dustwallow Marsh, you will get “Tiara of the Deep" from Tabetha at her little hut after you complete a couple of other quests for her.
In Steemwheedle Port, you will get “The Prophecy of Mosh'aru by Yeh'Kinye" but you will have to have completed the chain quest first to get this last part - those fun pirate quests that everyone loves.
In Thousand Needles, you'll get “Gahz'rilla" from Whizzle Brassbolts, he is at the race track in the Shimmering Flats, and you should pick up this quest as you are finishing up some there already. BUT – to actually do this quest, you will have to have the Mallet of Zul'Farrak first. Here is the kicker with this one, you have to run Zul'Farrak first, get an Ancient Tablet that can be dropped from anything there, then follow the instructions on the tablet to go to the Hinterlands and get the Mallet of Zul'Farrak, and then go back to the instance and finish this quest. It is a pain in the butt, yes, but usually if one person in your group has the mallet, you can share the quest and get it all done.
Ok, now that you have gathered up all the quests that you can do in Zul'Farrak, it is time to find a group and go. The next part of this mini guide will tell you about the different mobs that you will come across and the first bosses that lead up to the most fun part of the instance... the steps.
