Now that you have defeated Grand Magus Telestra, it is time to work you way to the next boss, Ormorok the Tree-Shaper and bring him down as well.

    Ormorok the Tree-Shaper

200px-Ormorok the Tree-Shaper The elemental boss in the Nexus, he is the one who created all of the crystalline ancients and treants that guard his chamber. You have to fight your way through them to get to him, so you will have already seen his handy work up close before you see him. He is probably the easiest boss in the instance to defeat, and basically, as long as your party members can dodge the spikes that he sends out, you can easily just have your tank aggro, and then cast him away. But, there are some abilities that he has that you will need to watch out for.

    Ormorok's Abilities

As you are fighting him, you will see these actions coming. So, make sure that you watch for them and you jump your toon out the way before they hit you.

The first ability that you will want to watch out for is his Trample, which will get you for 2300-2650 damage immediately. He will use this a lot, and you will have to make sure that your healer and casters are way out of the way so that they don't get wiped out quickly from this one move.

The next is his Spell Reflection which repels any magic spell or cast that you throw at him for about 2-5 seconds. He'll pull this one out about 3-5 times while you are fighting him. During this time, your tank can do some major damage though, so make sure he/she is healed up and ready to whack away.

The Crystal Spikes are the main ability that you will have to watch out for. He will summon a group of spikes made out of crystal that will go in all different directions from him. After he does this, a few seconds later, these spikes will erupt out of the ground and they do 2800-3200 damage to anyone near them and knocks them into the air. This is the main attack that will wipe your group out easily if you are not watching for this one.

Finally, he does Frenzy, which will happen when he hits about 25% health and it will increase any damage that he does by 100%. This is bad for those who have low health or who don't have heavy armor – so make sure that when he starts to get low on health, your casters and healer get way out of the way, but still in casting range.

In the next section of this series on the Nexus instance, we'll go through Anomalous and how to defeat him.
